The North Pole Express and Other Christmas Fun!

The countdown to Christmas is getting shorter - only four more days! We have had wonderful experiences during this magical season; it really is the best time of the year for families. We've been letting Jackson open presents every few days instead of holding them all to open on one day. He gets so excited over one present that forcing him to open them all at once would only confuse and frustrate him. Besides, I've always felt like the holidays are a month-long experience. Part of this notion came from my friend CC who would put up her huge Christmas tree and take it down in February! Talk about extending the season... So, in that spirit we are celebrating every day.
Last week we went to the ICE exhibit at the Gaylord Hotel in Grapevine. The hotel brings in ice sculptors from China to construct an enormous "village" made solely of ice. This year the theme was "The Grinch" so the sculptures followed this theme and include a two story ice slide. However, my favorite sculpture was the finale of a life-size ice nativity scene that was just breathtaking and they played the bible Christmas story which was so refreshing. That is the reason for the season, right?! In addition, the hotel was decorated beautifully with extravagant train displays including one that went through a huge Christmas tree. Jackson was mesmerized by the trains but wasn't quite sure about the ice exhibit - it was cold (9 degrees to be exact) and he wasn't allowed to touch anything (which is impossible for a toddler!).

This weekend we had David's company Christmas party in Dallas - it was a great date night for mommy and daddy. We used the night out to celebrate David's impending 40th birthday on the 23rd. Needless to say, we had a great time (though were exhausted on Sunday)! On Sunday, our church had the annual Christmas musical program and we had lunch as a family afterwards.
To cap off a great weekend, we had our Polar Express train ride in our pajamas on the antique railroad in Grapevine. They start the fun with a music presentation where the kids, and adults, sing songs, dance and have fun. We then go through a "winter wonderland" of Christmas trees where they have snow blowers going. Upon boarding the train, we were greeted by "Iona" - the train Master of Ceremonies - over the speaker system. With her amazing enthusiasm (I say this very sarcastically), we were led through songs and stories before getting a visit by Santa. Actually, Ms. Iona had us laughing the whole time with her commentaries - I can't begin to explain so I won't. Though I highly recommend going next year and taking the last train just to get a chance to hear her...
We wish you all a wonderful Christmas week!! Enjoy this time because the week will fly by and a new year will have begun before we know it...

10 days until Christmas!

Wow, this month has flown by! I knew it would, so who am I kidding... Once we returned home from Louisiana, we have been incredibly busy and very preoccupied with the housebuilding. The hardest part of beginning a blog posting after being absent so long is deciding where to begin. So, let's go back to the beginning of the month. Our house had really made progress while we were gone and we were able to see a closer resemblence to the final product than ever before. The walls were painted, the cabinets were stained and the yard had been grated after they poured driveway and sidewalk. Since then, they have put in the granite countertops, all the fixtures (including fans, lights, switches, etc.), the kitchen backsplash and begun the tile work. We're hoping that the next few weeks will be really productive and we'll be in some time at the beginning of the month of January. Uncle Lee came to visit us last week for his 30th birthday and we had a great time with him. Though the trip was extra short, we still were grateful for the time to hang with him. Mommy even got a night out while Daddy took care of Jack! Woohoo! We've done our best to experience a lot of fun Christmas activities including the tree trimming and present wrapping (Jackson loves to rip the paper and stomp on the boxes). We also had our playgroup Christmas cookie swap last week which was a blast and this week we'll be having the Christmas party book exchange.

Over this past weekend, we took Jackson to the Northpark Mall (one of my favorite places in Dallas) to see Santa and the Christmas trains. To our dismay, the wait for Santa was 8 hours (and we got there at 10:30am) so we decided to visit the Santa at Town Square instead which was only a 45 minute wait when we got there on Sunday (early again!). This Santa Claus picture thing has become quite the money-making scheme these days. I was shocked to say the least... Not only is it expensive, but you have to wait longer for pictures than you do to ride Space Mountain at Disney World. I guess it is just another joy of parenthood... And, despite watching Santa take pictures with other kids for almost an hour, Jackson still screamed his head off when it was our turn to sit on his lap. We attempted a family picture to calm him down but that didn't help much. In our cute picture, he's attempting to crawl down as fast as he can while Mommy has an iron grip on him holding him in place (as much as possible). Oh well, it makes for a good story...

I'll end here and save more stories for the next posting (this will encourage me to post again soon). As far as updates on Jackson, he is growing up too fast (but doesn't every mommy sa that about their babies). He still jabbers away and I understand about 25% of what he's saying. He is really big into playing with cars right now and will be getting a train set from Santa for Christmas. He loves chasing his doggies and loving on them when they stay still for him. His new favorite book is "Hurry, Hurry" and he has an infatuation with the Elf on the Shelf doll and I"m not sure why. His hair has gotten pretty long, as you can see from the pictures, but his daddy doesn't want me to cut it and I really don't want to either. It's just so beautiful!

We hope you're all having a wonderful holiday season. The lesson we taught to our Sunday School class this week was about the angels telling the shepherds the good news of Jesus' Birth so in that spirit, we are thankful for the first Christmas present - Jesus!

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble

My little turkey has had a great time this week visiting his friends and family in Louisiana. As always, we have been busy since we got here. Other than having a really tough time sleeping, he has been great despite being a little sick. On Wednesday he started with a runny nose and his left eye was red. We had Dr. Brad and Nurse Mimi check it out and they agreed it wasn't pink eye but probably just allergies. That seems like a reasonable prognosis due to the fact that his nose is running clear. Anyway, he played over at Maw Bush's and at Papa's wrecker yard on Monday and Tuesday; Keighly and Kolby came over to play with him and they had a blast. In fact, Keighly is now his new best friend and I love it. She's like a little mother to him and keeps him busy so I can get a moment to be an adult and visit with my family. On Wednesday we had lunch with Auntie Em, Uncle Lee, and Nanny Mae (Macie) at my favorite place - Tony's Pizza. Jackson had a little post-lunch round of golf with Lee and Macie. He just loves all the attention he gets and all the new playmates (mommy gets pretty old after a while). He also got to meet his new little cousin James and got to play with a baby llama at PawPaw Bollich's over the weekend. We have created many wonderful memories here this week...

On Thanksgiving, we had a blessed day filled with family and food. Jackson, as I suspected, just loved playing in the country at Auntie's house. There were so many cool toys, a trampoline, a playset with a slide, pigs, a dirtpile and plenty of people to keep him company (especially Keighly and Kolby). We had all our favorite foods, including Maw Bush's cornbread dressing and Auntie's peas. Really, it doesn't get much better...

Mimi and PawPaw Bob are going to keep him this weekend while we go to Baton Rouge for the LSU game. I know he will have a great time with them; he already does!

We hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving holiday and I also want to wish PawPaw Roy a happy birthday - he would have been 67 on this past Tuesday...

Playing in his PJs and Slippers

Jackson David is a little stinker - but I love him all the more for it. He has been all over the place this week and has so much energy (which wears Mama out!). He is so into his cars and trucks these days. In fact, don't tell him, but Santa is bringing him a new train table and huge train set for Christmas. Daddy, I mean Santa, will have to figure out how to set that thing up then take it down to travel to the new house. But Mommy can't wait to have a new p.ayroom to put all of Jackson and Daddy's toys in... I just have to figure out how to get one room in the house for myself. The kitchen I guess.

We went to a place called "Paradise Pond" today and he had a blast. The place is divided into different themed play areas. These included a shopping area with baskets, cash registers, fruits, etc.; a lego area that daddy would have loved; cars that slide over these coasters; a huge bounce house; dress up area with mirrors; dinosaur area; cars, trucks, dump trucks, tracks, etc.; and finally a huge 3 story climbing structure with a slide. I'll let you guess which were Jackson's favorites... His buddies Jack and Katharine are having their birthday there in January and we can't wait! I think we'll be going back there quite a bit now that the weather is colder - we'll be looking for fun indoor play to wear him out...

So, tomorrow "we're leaving on a jet plane, I don't know when I'll be back again..." Actually, I do know that we'll be back on the 29th but we look forward to a week at home in Louisiana for Thanksgiving. I will post from there next week.

Love to everyone,

Hayley and Jackson

Where does the time go?

I can't believe I haven't posted since Oct. 23rd! Well, Jackson woke me up at 5:30 am so I guess that was his not so slight suggestion for me to get up and get to work on the blog for all his adoring fans. A recap of the last few weeks: Jackson was a very handsome "T-Bird" for Halloween and loved trick-or-treating; I had a great trip to Mexico with Lee; the house is moving along very quickly and we now have brick, stone and sheetrocking; and Aunt Macie came for a visit and became Jackson's favorite new toy.

I've posted a picture of our little "T-Bird" - it was a fun, unique costume. He wore it well, that's for sure. He's such a cool dude! He liked getting candy from the neighbors but thought he had to trade in something in his bag for a new candy piece. So he was always trying to put something back in their bowls to get a new candy. He especially loved the chocolate and candy corn! You should see him eat chocolate (especially dark chocolate which is his favorite) - he gets this look like he's in Heaven. He also loved passing out candy to the kids who came to MawMaw's door. It was such a new fun experience for him - but he was wiped out tired by the end of the night!

He is saying so many new words now and can pick out animals and objects in his books. We will say, "where's the cow, dog, cat, sheep, apple, car, ball, etc..." and he points to the object. He will also say the words - I just think he's such a little genious! Of course, to me, he will always be amazing.

We had his 18 month check up on November 2nd and he was doing well with his weight gain - we are now 20. 6 lbs! This puts us in the 1 percentile so the doctor felt better about his growth and encouraged us to keep trying to get him to eat as much and as often as possible but he was making good progress. He is 32 1/2 inches and wears a size 6 shoe. His intellectual growth is great; he has great balance and walks and runs very well. The doctor noted that just from her visit with him it is obvious he has TONS of energy! Yep, he wears me out on a daily basis (and I'm sure this is why he is so skinny). We won't have to go back to the doctor for a check up until his 2nd birthday in May.

He is such a big helper and loves to do what we are doing - dusting, mowing, picking up stones at the new house, walking the dogs, etc. I am so amazed every day at how fast he's growing!

We'll be going home next week for Thanksgiving and can't wait to see everyone but I will be sure to do another post before then...

The Bookworm and The Cookie Monster

Sounds like a children's book, doesn't it? Actually, it's Jackson! I have to say that Jackson's absolute favorite thing, next to playing with Daddy, is reading books. He even reads them by himself when I won't do it for him. Hence the picture above. I was taking care of things around the house when Jackson brought me his "Touch and Feel Animals" book. I was smack in the middle of washing dishes so didn't oblige his wishes. When I did finish, I came into the living room where he had laid down on his favorite giraffe blanket and was flipping through his book. He didn't even look up at me when I took these pictures. He will very meticulously browse through his books downstairs and pick out a favorite to bring to us. And, if he can't find the one he wants downstairs, he'll go up to his room and bring one down to us. It's an amazing thing. I'm so proud that he has a love for books - I have always loved them and the "imaginary" world they open up for us.

The second picture is Jackson digging around for his little red firetruck in his big toy bin. He is so tiny that climbing into his toy boxes and bins is no problem.

Finally, my little cookie monster loves his oreos (just like daddy and PawPaw Roy). He won't eat any dinner but could eat cookies all night. He even likes dark chocolate! Guess he has the sweet tooth that runs in the family! I had to get a picture of his messy face. Suffice it to say he was in an Oreo and NickJr induced high...

House Update: The venting has been put in on the house and the duct work is run for the HVAC. It's moving along!

Happy Weekend to everyone. I'll try to post one more before leaving for Mexico on Monday...

Fall Fest

* This is a shot of the house from the back yard!

We have had a busy few days due to this beautiful cool weather. Once the sun came out on Thursday of last week, we've spent every moment possible outdoors. We've played at the park with our buddies and spent a lot of time in the yard. Jackson loves riding his little PowerWheels 4 Wheeler and he still loves to swing those golf clubs. He also loves to throw balls - usually at Maggie! He doesn't quite understand why she won't throw it back but he laughs anyway. On Saturday, we had a great afternoon at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens with some friends and their children (Traci and Chad Jenkins). We packed a little picnic - Chad said we had our own little convenience store. What can I say, I like to ensure we have great snacks! Jackson loved feeding the fish and he gets so excited that we have to make sure he doesn't climb into the water. On Sunday, we went to the Green Meadows Petting Farm with a group of friends from our playgroup (Rhonda, Tom and the twins, Tom's mother, MawMaw Mary Ellen, Donna and Owen). The kids had a great time - it was a blast to watch them with these animals up close and personal. Jackson especially like the little ducklings but he would get so excited that he would squeeze their little necks and choke them. The poor little ducklings were not too excited about this. We had to quickly distract him to get him away so we didn't end up with a murder investigation of a strangled duckling. He also really enjoyed the lambs and baby goats. I think it makes him comfortable to be around the smaller animals as they are more his "size." We milked a cow (Jackson liked the woodchips under her udders the best), watched a pig race, held a lamb, and picked out pumpkins to take home. The group picture of the kids is my absolute favorite. Keep in mind, this was the end of the day and they were pooped! What a treasure to show them when they are older and all in high school together - they will all be in the same grade.

Jackson loves animals so much but he still gets most excited with his own two little rotten animals at home!

What a blessing we have in this little boy and that we are able to experience so many fun things with him!

House Update: the windows are in, the roof is being installed today and we should see rock and stone later this week...

Broadway, Here We Come!!

Actually, 2518 Broadway Lane to be exact. They (finally) finished the slab on our new house and began framing it yesterday. They have a big group of guys working on it and are already completing the second story today. "Excited" doesn't begin to describe how we feel now that we see things moving on our new home. I have so little patience and this is killing me!! It has been fun though to pour over magazines and pick out new things and decorating ideas to prepare for the new home.

We're being told that the completion date should fall between January 7th and 15th. Our chances of getting in before Christmas were completely "washed away" by all the rain we got at the begining of September. So, the countdown has begun to our arrival on "Broadway"! Every time I say it, I always want to break into song. Atleast it should be easier for Jackson to memorize his address when he's older, but does this mean he'll get made fun of?? Nah, he's way too cute to get made fun of (I know, yeah right!)

I'll continue to make posts of the house as we go along so stay tuned...

I'm also posting pictures of Jackson playing in the front driveway yesterday afternoon. He stands on the curb, bends his arms and tries to jump onto the drive. He wants to learn to jump so badly that he practices all the time - he's getting so close but we're not there yet. As we were playing, an airplane passed overhead which he absolutely loves so I had to get a picture of him watching it pass. My camera wasn't quick enough to get him pointing at it, but I think most of you have seen him do that already. I'll probably need to video that one before he stops doing it.

Happy Wednesday! We send our love...

Jackson's Driving Now!

Okay, that isn't entirely correct but it is close. He will climb up into my car by himself using the running boards, then climb onto the seat and try to drive the car. He is, of course, under constant supervision by yours truly. It is so funny to see this though - a 17 month old hanging out in the driver's seat turning the steering wheel. I asked him where he planned on going but couldn't get a straight answer - I thought that only happened when they were high school age?!I've also posted a picture of him veged out in front of the TV watching a music show. He loves anything with music, instruments, songs, etc. I promise we don't watch TV all the time, but you can tell that when we do, he is totally engrossed...

The final picture was taken this weekend when he and his daddy hung out in their PJs for most of the morning. He had been eating blue M&Ms which is why his lips are purple. If you know me, then you are fully aware that it is not cold in my house so I promise he isn't freezing so much his lips turned blue. And, yes, I give him M&Ms - thanks to his MiMi who got him on that kick. To our credit, the M&Ms are part of a trail mix but he only eats the candy with a few raisins thrown in there. But at least he's eating something!

We hope you have a Happy Monday!

Jackson Enjoys the Fall Weather

On Friday, October 2nd, Jackson turned 17 months old. He also got his second haircut this week and looks so much like a little boy. He began saying "giraffe" when David points at the pictures in his room or reads his favorite book - "Giraffes Can't Dance." Although it sounds more like "riraffe" but we are still so proud of him. Of course, he chatters all day long and communicates better and better as each day passes. He definitely has plenty to say, especially when I do something that does NOT make him happy. He also likes riding around on David's back like he's a big horse - that reminds me I'll need to take a few pictures of him riding Daddy "the horse" with his cowboy boots on.

He has a little cold that he developed late last week but he is not showing any flu-like symptoms other than a little mild fever. We're keeping a close eye on it but feel likeit isn't serious. Poor baby just has a runny nose but is still playing extra hard.

We spent a lot of time at MawMaw Little's house yesterday getting ready for the big garage sale next weekend. That is where these pictures were taken - Jackson loves playing with the pretty yellow flowers in her front yard. He also rode around on the driveway in his new PowerWheels 4Wheeler that we bought him. He has a blast on that thing!

He is eating good but I'm not sure if he has gained any weight though he does look a little fuller in the face and legs. Let's keep hoping for the best as we continue trying to fatten that little man up...

We hope everyone is enjoying this fall weather as much as we are. It has been so wonderful here as the autumn breezes are blowing in cool weather. Most importantly, they have poured the concrete slab on our house - we should begin seeing a lot more action now as they frame it up. This is so exciting for us!! We are so blessed in our life....

This blog is "Supercalifragelisticexpealidocious"

Jackson has a small addiction to television and he especially loves any show with music. So, of course, if I have to watch this on TV, then I would like to watch something that appeals to me as well. Hence "Mary Poppins" - besides, we are going to see the Broadway traveling show in Dallas this weekend so I wanted to brush up on my singing chops. Well, David was so amused at how entranced Jackson was watching "Mary Poppins" that he took this picture. The front angle would show Jackson's staring eyes and gaping mouth. Guess he loves it as much as I do!

Yesterday on an outing to Towne Square, Jackson found a metal grating at the doorway to "Crate and Barrel" and began trying to jump up and down (it seems he liked the sound). He really was a funny spectacle. He would bob his upper half up and down, then try to pick up his feet but it only resulted in one foot lifting. He just couldn't figure out how to get them both up at the same time. I'm sure he will get it in time but it was so funny to watch him try so hard. It seems we forget all the little things children have to learn once they enter the world, including something so simple as jumping.

I'm looking at him covered in Oreo cookie so I'm off to see if I can get this mess all cleaned up so we can go outside and enjoy this nice fall weather.

Happy Wednesday and remember "Just a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down, in the most delightful way..."

Summer Break is over... the Blog is Back

This has been a difficult summer for us, so we, unfortunately, had to take a few months off from the blogging. As most of you know, we lost "PawPaw" in August and miss him everyday. We have also begun construction (again) on our house in "The Highlands at Trophy Club." We stayed busy traveling to the beach, San Antonio, Lake Charles, etc. and had lots of company - which we love! Summer just flew by before we had a chance to notice...

So, here is the latest update (which is the main reason for this blog, and I know most of you look forward to it) - Jackson turned 16 months old on Sept. 2nd and is a ball of energy. I type this while watching him run up and down the stairs. He gets to the top and throws things down at the dogs and me on the couch. He is saying a ton of words including dog, cat, shoe, backpack, map, peekaboo, and "ta ta baby" (his Mimi taught him that one) among many others. He has begun repeating a lot so we have to be careful with what we say. He is also learning "1, 2, 3" but usually only says "3" - and he does know to jump on three. He will rummage in the pantry until he finds his goldfish then bring them to me to open. He loves goldfish! He is still pretty skinny but looks and acts very healthy. His color is good and he eats pretty good (just not very much) - but that little boy is a poopoo factory. He must go atleast three times a day. I wish I had that kind of metabolism! He has the longest little feet and toes and is already wearing a size 6. Mimi and PawPaw even bought him some cowboy boots - which he LOVES!! I've posted the pictures of him in the boots on my facebook account - they're too adorable. I guess he's a real Texan now...

He LOVES reading books and will bring them to me all day long to read to him. In fact, we are planning to visit the library today to check out some more. His very favorite book is "Giraffes Can't Dance" by Giles Adreae and his second favorite is "Puppies Are Like That" which has two dachshunds in it and he loves pointing to the one that looks like Maggie then points at her. He is also great at saying "Hi" and "Bye Bye" - he will hold up the phone and say "Hi!" Another favorite activity is looking at pictures. He especially loves the pictures of his daddy and even if there are other people in the picture (including his Mama, I might add) he will only point at David and say "Dada." I ask him who I am and he will look at me then point at David and say, "Dada." I can't believe it!

He is such a big boy and every day is an adventure - sometimes a very tiring one... but he does give me the best hugs and kisses. We send our love to everyone and hope you will stay tuned - we will be updating the blog again on a regular basis.

"We're Back, We're Back!"

I told you it would be a couple weeks; sorry I didn't get a chance to post anything while away. But, we're back home "on the Texas range" and happy to get back in our routine. I haven't downloaded the pictures from Florida just yet - that may take some time - but I promise to blog about that as soon as possible. However, a little teaser - the beach was beautiful (as always), the house was gorgeous and it was a blast watching Jackson have a blast! We also had a great time visiting everyone in Sulphur despite our bout with that nasty little stomach bug that spread through the town (okay, not really, but close enough!).

Today, we visited Dr. Hunt, Jackson's pediatrician, for his yearly checkup (a couple months late). He got a round of immunizations and screamed like he was having his leg cut off. Of course, this broke my heart into pieces. It must be terrible for them to get poked so many times - and I still hate getting shots to this day, even when it's only one! She monitored his growth and we reviewed all the skill sets for this age. He is doing very well with his development and she was impressed to see how well balanced he is at this age. He is 31 inches long (placing him in the 60th percentile and his head circumference falls in the 18th percentile) However, the bad news is he still is not gaining weight. He is now only 18lbs 3oz - that means he's gained less than one pound in three months. His weight is below the 3 percentile; in fact, he doesn't even register on the growth chart. So, we have to really continue working hard to get him to eat really fattening foods as much as possible. We have a checkup scheduled in 7 weeks to see if he's improved at all and at least made it onto the growth chart. If not, we will do another round of blood testing to determine if there are any issues we need to know about and deal with. I, along with his doctor, am still not extremely concerned at this point because he appears to be healthy, active and with a good color in his cheeks.

He had gotten two new molars in the bottom of his mouth while we were in Sulphur, so we are going to schedule a visit with the pediatric dentist in the coming months to monitor those chompers of his and make sure they're growing correctly.

Finally, I just want to add that I went out and bought myself a brand-new Dyson vaccum cleaner. I got so tired of messing with our old, cheap ones that I decided it was time to move up in the world of household cleaning. I have now reached "housewife heaven" - or maybe I've sunk really low, depending on how you look at it...

Jackson and PawPaw are both under the weather... but we're ready for brighter days!

On Friday of last week, Jackson's little sniffles turned into a faucet of yellowy mucus. So, I waited and watched all weekend and after he did not get better AND started pulling at his ears, we headed straight to the doctor this morning. We love Dr. Hunt - she takes good care of Jackson and is so gentle with him. It's funny to watch him with her because he becomes somewhat entranced while she makes these little humming noises to him and distracts him. I'm wondering if this is a class they teach in med school for pediatricians? "How to hypnotize crying babies 101" Anyway, she gave us some antibiotics and ear drops for the pain and sent us on our way. Now that my little man is resting comfortably; I can take a breath to catch up and log on (to the internet that is). In a few days, he should return to normal. Well, about as normal as a 13 month old boy can be...
Status update on the little man: Jackson now weighs 18lbs, 4oz - what can I say, my little heavyweight! He's eating great and has discovered he really loves strawberries (oh, and his Uncle Brian's cherry kool-aid) but just doesn't seem to want to add any fat on his bones. He's moving even quicker and can just about keep up with the dogs except when they get whipped up into a frenzy over a squirrel; then he just looks at them like they're nuts (which they are). His hair gets more blonde as we spend more time outside. I load him up with sunscreen but he's still getting a little brown tan (but, luckily, no burns!). So he looks like this little surfer dude/beach bum. He likes to wave at the airplanes when they fly overhead heading to the DFW airport and has developed a MAJOR fascination with my makeup brushes. He knows the cabinet I keep them in and will head up the stairs by himself, straight to the bathroom, open the cabinet door, dump out all of my makeup on the floor and pull every single brush out of the bag, then walk around with them. His daddy insists he will be a painter one day which would be wonderful - I would absolutely love to have a little Monet!! He still loves swimming and is now holding on to little noodles and kicking his feet. I'll strip him down naked after we get out of Aunt Debbie and Uncle Brian's pool, not the community pool - we don't want to get blacklisted this early - and he'll strut around in the buff. We got some great pictures of his tiny little naked behind pruning the flowers on her patio after I took off his wet bathing suit. It was a sight to see (a little one, but very funny)!

So many of you have also kept up with Mr. Roy's progress through us and I wanted to give this update. On Saturday, Mr. Roy had to go to the emergency room for some complications from his latest round of chemo. He is now in ICU with pneumonia but showing signs of improvement. We pray everyday for him and I know our family and friends are also sending up prayers for him. This has been rough on him but we know he's a tough old guy and will get through this like he has so many other things. He is scheduled to go for a cat scan this Friday to see if the cancer is still isolated to his pelvic bone. We also pray that this scan goes well. My mother reminded me yesterday that he can come through this like others have before him, and I believe that if anyone is capable of beating cancer, it's PawPaw Roy!

Finally, we'll be leaving this Friday to head home to Sulphur for 8 days. We can't wait to see everyone! We will then be going to Florida for an additional 7 days. So, this blogger may be taking an extended hiatus but promise to do my best to give little updates while we're gone...
Mommy needs a vacation (and a relaxing beach)!!
