Everything you want to know (and maybe a few things you didn't) about our life as we just try to get through one day at a time with our two boys - Jackson and Will. This is an exciting time for our "Little" family!

Picture Time and Our First Snow

The Boy's new portraits

Watching the snow fall in the backyard...

We took pictures as a family and of the boys over the weekend - you'll see the results of these above. It was tough getting a picture of both boys together so we only had good shots of them alone. We plan to take some of them at home again to see if we can get a few good ones like the last I took.
Sunday was our first snow of the season though we only got a few inches. We enjoyed watching it from the warmth of inside but Jackson did ask once to go outside. We convinced him it was just too cold and wet. I couldn't afford him getting sick right now! It was so beautiful and quiet... But these frigid temperatures are miserable.
Will turned 10 weeks yesterday and is growing more aware and interactive every day. We love to see him laugh - daddy is best at getting him to do it. He is also very amused by ceiling fans and his big brother!

In this corner, William Roy "Big Boy" Little

Will's 9 Week Stats:

Weight - 11 lbs 8 oz
80th percentile (up from 7% at one week)
Height - 23 1/2 inches
91st percentile
Head - 15 1/4 inches
60th percentile

His checkup went great with Dr. Hunt! He is healthy and happy. In addition to getting his stats and a thorough body checkup, he got three shots which he took like a champ - or so I hear from his daddy because I had to leave the room I was so upset. An amazing discovery we made was his 3 birthmarks. He has a cafe au lait spot on his tummy and two Mongolian spots on his behind. I had the same exact spot as a baby on my backside! These spots are found on dark skinned babies like my beautiful olive boy. Even more proof that he has my genes!

New Year, New Milestones

These pictures are a perfect example of what happens in our house any time Jack starts messing with his little brother. I know this is only the beginning of the tattling...

Last night Will slept from 8pm to 3am! Let's do the math- that is seven hours!! I am shocked, amazed, ecstatic and thankful but I know it could be a fluke so I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high. Still, it was wondrous...
Will turned 9weeks today and is doing very well. We have had no problems with his nursing, except that he wants to eat a little too often but my boy loves to eat and has plenty of rolls to prove it. He is now sleeping in his room in his crib which has made a world of difference for me and him. He's awake much more during the day now and loves to be held and rocked. That, unfortunately, doesn't happen often because I'm chasing jack around. Will and I both look forward to jack's school days so we can have our special time together. He loves his big brother and likes it when jack talks to him and plays with him, until he gets a little rough and the party is over then. Also, my new magic trick - the vacuum cleaner. Turn that thing on and Will stops screaming immediately and falls asleep within minutes. He may not stay asleep but its a great temporary fix. I need to get it on video to show the effect. It's pretty funny! Will's hair has started to grow in where it fell out on the top of his head so he doesn't have that old man look as much. Regardless, he has stayed beautiful to me!
We had a great new years eve at the Bellm's house with our friends and the kids stayed up late playing. I know it will only get more fun as they grow and look forward to being with our friends and watching our kids together year after year (hint, hint Rhonda - this will be a yearly party at your house, right?!). We, as parents, discussed how drastically our NYE celebrations have changed in a few short years but this was one of the best we've had in a long time and we didn't even make it to midnight!

Stay tuned: Will's checkup with dr. Hunt is tomorrow so we will have lots of news and updates to post!

Beautiful Darling Boys

William and Jackson -
May 2011 bring many blessings and special memories to you both. Mommy and Daddy love you, our beautiful darling boys.

Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)
Lyrics by John Lennon

Close your eyes
Have no fear
The monster's gone
He's on the run and your daddy's here (and mommy too)

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy

Before you go to sleep
Say a little prayer
Every day in every way
It's getting better and better

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy

Out on the ocean sailing away
I can hardly wait
To see you come of age
But i guess we'll both just have to be patient
'cause it's a long way to go
A hard row to hoe
Yes it's a long way to go
But in the meantime

Before you cross the street
Take my hand
Life is what happens to you
While you're busy making other plans

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy

Before you go to sleep
Say a little prayer
Every day in every way
It's getting better and better

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful
Beautiful boy
Darling, darling, darling
Darling sean

Two months old today!

Our beautiful little boy turned two months old today and has enjoyed many wonderful things already in his short little life. His first trip to Northpark Mall, his first Thanksgiving and Christmas, and lots of meet and greets with family and friends. We had a wonderful time with Aunt Macie when she visited and she got to experience a few days in the life of the Littles - pretty exhausting, huh Aunt Mace?!
Christmas was wonderful this year because we got to have Mimi and Pawpaw Bob here to celebrate with us all. Our week started out with a trip to Grapevine - we saw trains and more at the Gaylord, lunched on Main Street and finished the day with a ride on the North Pole Express. We spent the next day at Northpark Mall visiting the train exhibit, lunching at the Bistro N and shopping. we finished the week with lots of family time, good food, a wonderful church service, a great Christmas Eve at Aunt Debbie and Uncle Brian's house, and a very special Christmas morning here at home.
You will also see pictures above from jacks Christmas program at preschool - it was a hoot! He was such a ham and made us laugh. Ahhh, memories to cherish. This was definitely one!

5 1/2 Weeks and counting...

Jackson visited with Santa at Lillian's birthday party... He told him he wanted Thomas the Train Engine and all the other engines. He also wants race cars and candy!

Will is going to be 6 weeks on Monday. I will have my visit with Dr. Neal on Monday as well to get the all clear on my incision and C-Section recovery. I feel great though I'm still exhausted from waking every couple of hours at night to feed Will. He is an eating machine! You might notice how full his little cheeks are in the pictures posted above. He wants to eat all the time and it shows. We are all still adjusting to the new little boy in our lives but things are somewhat getting into a routine. We've been getting out more and I'm able to handle both boys by myself. I'm just counting the days until we get Will to sleep a little longer at night and things will greatly improve then.
This week Uncle Lee came for a visit and we had a great time celebrating his 31st birthday. Happy Birthday Uncle Lee - I hope to spend many more with you!! In the words of Oprah, "You are a mother to me and the best friend I could ask for..."
Jackson has been really enjoying the last few weeks at school and they've been preparing for the big Christmas program next week. I can't wait to see if he'll perform this time without sitting on the floor and crying (as he did during the Thanksgiving program). Either way, it'll make for great photos.
Speaking of Christmas, our stockings are hung and the tree is lit. We're waiting on Jolly Ol' Saint Nick to visit (and Mimi and PawPaw Bob!). This will be a wonderful holiday as we are all together celebrating the birth of Jesus and our many blessings in life. More Christmas updates next week, including the Christmas program highlights...
